Katie Vogelheim

Climate Activator | Educator | Foundation President

As an advisor, foundation president, and investor, Katie Vogelheim has performed multiple roles in service of protecting nature, many of them with Conservation International (CI). From 2018 to 2023, she chaired CI’s Leadership Council, a group of 40+ business professionals engaged in strategic and philanthropic projects to further the organization’s environmental mission. She also served on the CI Board and is currently an active member of the CI Science Council. In addition, as President of her family foundation, Katie invests in global conservation efforts and mentors project leaders to bring these solutions to scale. At Stanford, she is on a teaching team and is a DCI Fellow, leading a Sustainability, Climate Change and Energy special impact mentoring group. The common thread: bringing like-minded people together, mobilizing resources, and equipping and inspiring others to drive substantive impact for the future of our natural world

Before becoming a climate activator, Katie built a diverse business career: managing global sales, marketing, and technical teams at GE Information Services, running marketing and music-making at a Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) division, growing a technology startup, and executing a range of assignments in her own consulting firm. She currently sits on the advisory board of the Harvard School of Public Health, advancing research that addresses health impacts due to climate change. She has also served on the Harvard Business School Board of Dean’s Advisors and the Loyola University Rome Center Advisory Council. As often as possible, in the field or underwater, Katie has her camera ready to capture nature in its full glory.
